Well, Sans didn't want to tell the other Sanses. One of those Sans is "the always fighting literally everyone" Sans. But the real Sans isn't like that. He's more laid back. And he only fights true evils like Chara like the dirty brother killer he/she is.

Even with a sneak attack behind the real Sans, he would dodge it, but not cause a trigger. He would just contain him in a pile of indestructible bones instead and take him to Papyrus's jail. Or as Sans calls it, the garage.

Actually sans is mostly fighting "YOU," the player behind the Keyboard.    Yeah I did not get it at first too, but basically its actually you (the player) that's causing all this pain, and Chara only snaps when you finish the route.     The game clearly states that its dosen't want you going down this route, and you are given the choice to do so.

I still hate Chara, but then I'd be hating myself.     So no, Charas not the dirty brother killer who started it.       I just wanted to point that out from your description in case you get a snobby undertale fan, that comes in making trouble, over something you said in the description.
